🛠 Metareality 2026: August–October update
Friends, here’s what we’ve built over the past two months. It was a busy stretch, and almost everything is already live.
📱 Mobile app: fixed on newer iPhones
On iPhone 12 and newer, the app could hang for several minutes while loading content. We found the cause. On startup, the app requested a batch of banners all at once, and the content server choked on the burst. Downloads now run one at a time. We tested on several devices and the hangs are gone, along with the stuttering on iPhone 12.
Version 6.6.5 (12) is now live on the App Store.
We also have a dedicated machine for iOS builds now, and part of the build process is automated.
🌐 Portal and data
Restored portal.arcona.io. Etherscan shut down its old API version, so we moved the portal to the new one and updated wallet login.
Made a full platform backup: 35,202 land plots, 1,530 domains, 2,433 users, and all Gold/Silver balances.
Launched a portal mirror at portal.metareality.space, the first step toward independent Metareality infrastructure.
🏰 Ludza Castle in AR
Built and published the AR model of the fortress. You can open it in the app by scanning a QR code.
Optimized textures: the iOS bundle is now 5× smaller (from ~100 MB to 21 MB), and Android is 29 MB.
Fixed the lighting. The model now uses the app’s own sun system, which follows the real sun position for your location and time of day.
Preparing an audio guide with 6 points inside the fortress, in Latvian, English, Russian and German.
🌍 OpenSim + Arcona hexagons
Loaded 1,537 real Arcona hexagons from the live API into OpenSim.
Built a converter that turns OpenSim scenes into Arcona AR scenes. You can build in a virtual world and see the result in the real one.
Created a 3D reconstruction of the Ludza ruins from about 5,000 frames.
This is the foundation for the location editor and for a model where each land owner runs their own node.
🤖 Metareality AR Bot
The bot turns a green-screen video into an AR object with a QR code.
Free for 14 days, then $4.50/month or $39/year via Telegram Stars.
You choose where your character appears: on the floor, on a business card, on a wall, or stepping out of the wall.
Videos in any format are converted automatically.
Available in English and Russian.
🧠 Arcona AI Council
We launched @ArconaAICouncilBot. Several AI models (GPT, Gemini, Grok, DeepSeek, Claude) discuss and debate your question while you chair the session. You connect your own API keys, which are stored encrypted, and you can add any compatible provider.
🎙 Coming soon: the Metareality AI news anchor
We’ve built a video content pipeline and are preparing our news anchor, Ahooly d’Arcona. First episodes coming soon.
🔐 Infrastructure
We audited our servers, strengthened security, and cleaned up access and backups.
What’s next: the Ludza audio guide, German and Latvian in the app, the Android release, and the location editor. We’re moving our Eva to European servers and relaunching daily tournaments with new rules and gameplay. We’re also replacing the fox familiar with dragon avatars and connecting AI to them. And much more!
